East Central University (ECU) is a public university in Ada, Oklahoma (United States), a town of about 17,000 people some 90 miles from Oklahoma City and 150 miles from Dallas. It offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees as well as master's and doctoral degrees, on campus in Ada or fully online.
According to the university, it has about 5,000 undergraduates, more than 70 undergraduate majors, an average class size of 21 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 18 to 1. Fields mentioned for international students include pre-medicine, computer science, information technology, nursing, business, accounting and biology.
ECU has more than 300 international students from over 30 countries. Its Office of International Student Programs and Services (ISPS) helps with admission documents, US visa applications and maintaining immigration status, and international students receive a non-resident tuition waiver. There is no on-campus intensive English programme, so applicants must meet the English requirement before admission. Student life includes clubs such as the International Student Connection Club and the African & Caribbean Student Association, and on-campus housing ranges from suite-style to traditional residence halls.

More than 70 undergraduate majors leading to Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees, on campus in Ada or online. Fields include:

- Online admission application and the items in the International Student Application Packet
- International application fee of US$75, paid online by card
- Proof of English proficiency (see language requirements)
- Graduate applicants must also apply separately to the School of Graduate Studies; they may take up to 12 credit hours before sitting the GRE or MAT
Applications are reviewed in the order received. Admitted students receive an admission letter and Form I-20 to apply for an F-1 student visa, for which financial documentation is required. Detailed admission requirements are published in the Academic Catalog.
- Undergraduate: TOEFL iBT 61 (paper-based 500) or IELTS 5.5
- Graduate: TOEFL iBT 79 (paper-based 550) or IELTS 6.5
Alternatively, students who reach these scores can complete at least 12 weeks at an intensive English programme approved by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education before admission; ECU has no on-campus programme. Students from listed English-speaking countries are exempt.
International students receive a non-resident tuition waiver, which according to the university significantly reduces the cost of attendance. Some international student clubs also raise funds for international student scholarships.
ECU offers on-campus housing ranging from suite-style living to traditional residence halls. To live on campus, students must be admitted to the university and enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, and a meal plan is required. The housing application for fall 2026 and spring 2027 opened on 9 March 2026.
