John Cabot University (JCU) is an independent American liberal arts university in Rome, Italy, founded in 1972. It is located in the Trastevere neighbourhood and teaches in English. JCU is accredited in the United States by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and its Frank J. Guarini School of Business is accredited by AACSB. Students come from more than 80 countries, and the student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1.

Applicants can apply to undergraduate programmes as freshmen or transfer students. The university offers scholarships, grants and loans, career services with for-credit and not-for-credit internships, and health services with an on-campus doctor. JCU housing consists of furnished shared apartments for two to nine residents, including the Gianicolo Residence near the Guarini Campus; graduate students can also choose studios.

Graduate students can live in JCU housing, in a studio or a shared apartment, or find external housing through a third-party provider.

Housing

JCU housing follows the American residence-life model, with professional Residence Directors and student Resident Assistants. Students live in furnished apartments for two to nine residents, with a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and Wi-Fi. Gender-inclusive housing is available and students may request a specific roommate.

  • Undergraduates: shared apartments in the Gianicolo Residence, the Lungara Apartments or the Trastevere Apartments
  • Graduate students: studio or shared apartments, or external housing through a third-party provider

The Gianicolo Residence has more than 70 apartments, steps from the Guarini Campus and a short walk from the Tiber Campus.
