Les Roches Marbella is the Spanish campus of Les Roches, a hospitality management school with campuses in Crans-Montana (Switzerland), Marbella (Spain) and Abu Dhabi (UAE). The Marbella campus was founded in 1995 and is on the Costa del Sol. For practical training it has four professional kitchens, a demonstration bar, a front office, a housekeeping office and a model hotel room. Academic facilities include a Mac lab and a 158-seat auditorium connected in real time with Les Roches Crans-Montana. The library holds more than 6,000 books, and students can also use an online library of over 135,000 e-books.

Spanish as a foreign language (E.L.E.) is taught at four levels within the degree programmes. Applicants whose first language is not English need an English certificate, such as IELTS 5.5 for bachelor's programmes. Students live in the main-building residence, in the Bahía residence a five-minute drive away, or in managed off-campus apartments, with a shuttle to campus from Monday to Friday.

Bachelor Degree in Global Hospitality Management (BBA)

The Bachelor in Business Administration in International Hotel Management prepares students to enter the world of hospitality. It combines excellent academic theory, with real-world practice while on internships, to create a fully rounded experience. With a variety of courses on offer, you can expand your knowledge in areas such as business management, languages and other elective subjects. This degree will prepare you to enter the hospitality industry with confidence and enthusiasm. In your final two semesters, 6 and 7, you can specialize to develop strategic and management skills relevant to your chosen industry, or to create solid foundations for further graduate studies. Students can choose the BBA in International Hotel Management pathway which suits their career objectives and areas of interest including Hospitality Entrepreneurship, Resorts Management, Digital Marketing Strategies and Hotel Financial Performance.

Hotel Management Diploma

With the Hotel Management Diploma students will be able to access practical hospitality courses including reception, restaurant operations, room division and basic hotel management theory. The Hotel Management diploma is designed to give graduates access to entry-level positions in the hospitality industry. The program included the foundation years of the BBA in International Management Degree.

Postgraduate in International Hospitality Management

The postgraduate in International Hospitality Management is designed for people who already have a university degree or diploma wishing to fast track their career into the exciting international hospitality industry. Postgraduate in International Hotel Management – Executive Program

Programmes

The bachelor's programme in hospitality management combines practical skills, business knowledge and a year of work experience. Practical training uses the campus's four professional kitchens, demonstration bar, front office, housekeeping office and model hotel room. Spanish as a foreign language (E.L.E.) is offered at four levels within the degree programmes. Holders of a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management, or of a recognised hospitality school diploma of at least 2.5 years, can apply for direct entry to the BBA.

  • Diploma of Advanced Studies in Golf Courses (6 months)

Advanced Studies programmes can be taken with or without a degree, provided the applicant has relevant professional experience.

Admission

Bachelor's programmes:

  • Completed application form with supporting documents
  • High school diploma or equivalent; at the Spanish campus documents are accepted in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese
  • Minimum age of 17 at the start of the programme
  • CV and a signed 300-word motivation essay
  • Written exercise and interview

Postgraduate programmes require a bachelor's degree, except Master's and Diplomas of Advanced Studies and executive programmes. For Advanced Studies, applicants need one year of hospitality experience with a degree or three years without one. Minimum age is 21 for most master's and diplomas and 23 for the MBA.

Language requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not spent the last two years studying in English, must submit one of these certificates:

  • Bachelor's programmes: IELTS 5.5 overall (minimum 5.0 per component), TOEFL iBT 70 or Cambridge First grade C (minimum 160 points)
  • Postgraduate programmes: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS Academic 6.0 (minimum 5.5 per component), Cambridge FCE grade A or CAE grade C (minimum 180 points), no older than 12 months

IELTS results are accepted only from official test centres. The score-sending code for Les Roches Spain is B941.

The application fee (non-refundable) must be sent with the application form and will be valid ONLY for one intake date. 250 Euros.

Scholarships and financial aid

Students in a situation of economic hardship may apply for financial aid. Eligibility is examined on a case-by-case. Funding varies in amount and duration. Because funding is limited, attendance, factors such as academic status and disciplinary history are also taken into consideration when reviewing requests.

Housing

  • Main-building residence: single, double or triple rooms with en suite bathroom, desk, air conditioning and safe; weekly room cleaning
  • Bahía residence, a five-minute drive from campus: single or double rooms in apartments with shared kitchen and living room
  • Managed off-campus apartments in a resort-style property, with shuttle service to campus and utilities included

Lodging is compulsory for students in the first semesters of the bachelor's programme and optional for Master of Science students. Places are allocated by availability, on a first-come, first-served basis.
