Liberty University is a private, nonprofit Christian university in Lynchburg, in Central Virginia (United States), founded in 1971. It teaches on its residential campus and online, with more than 144,000 students in total (residential and online) and an 18:1 student-to-professor ratio.

Liberty offers associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in more than 700 areas of study, integrating Christian beliefs with a liberal arts tradition.
