Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is a university whose main campus lies in Harrogate, Tennessee (United States), in the Appalachian Mountains about 55 miles north of Knoxville, with 11 extended sites in the surrounding area. Its enrollment is close to 7,000 students, and the average class size is 14.

LMU offers more than 30 undergraduate majors in fields such as business, humanities, arts and sciences, education, nursing and other health professions, and engineering. Graduate and professional programmes include the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), as well as law and dental medicine.

Undergraduate applications are made online with no application fee, essays or test scores, and admission is rolling. International applicants submit transcripts with a course-by-course credential evaluation and an English proficiency test (for example TOEFL iBT 61 or IELTS 5.5); the I-20 form for the student visa is issued after admission. The university has residence halls and apartments on campus, and its International Programs office also arranges short-term immersion programmes.

Admission Requirements

International undergraduate applicants meet the freshman or transfer criteria and submit:

  • The online undergraduate application (no application fee, essays or test scores required)
  • Transcripts, with a course-by-course evaluation from an approved credential evaluation service (such as WES or ECE) for studies completed outside the United States
  • An English proficiency exam

Admission is rolling. The I-20 form needed for the student visa is issued once all documents are received and admission is granted.

Undergraduate cost of attendance for the 2026-2027 school year (full time, on campus, 32 credit hours):

Housing

On-campus undergraduate housing includes residence halls with double and single rooms (Liles & West, Lafrentz-Poole), three-bedroom apartments (Pope, Mitchell and Dishner) and The Village apartments. Per-semester rates range from US$2,240 for a double room to US$4,685 for a single room in an apartment (2026-2027). Several meal plans are available, and a US$200 housing deposit applies. Graduate housing information is also provided by Residence Life.
