Rhodes College is a residential liberal arts and sciences college in Memphis, Tennessee (United States), established in 1848. It has about 1,800 students, of whom around 10% are international, a student-to-faculty ratio of 9:1, and it is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's and master's degrees.
Rhodes offers more than 70 majors, minors and interdisciplinary programmes in the fine arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, with pre-professional advising in more than 12 fields. Dual degree programmes with other universities lead to engineering, nursing and Latin American studies degrees, and undergraduates can take an accelerated M.S. in Accounting. The Rhodes Promise guarantees every student hands-on learning through research, an internship or study abroad.
International students apply through the Common Application, with optional SAT or ACT scores and TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo results if English is not their native language. Rhodes states that it meets the demonstrated financial need of international students and offers merit scholarships. The International Student Services Office helps with travel arrangements and the transition to American culture, and 95% of first-year students live on campus.
