Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is a public university in the University System of Georgia, with campuses in Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman and Warner Robins, and online. It was created through the merger of Middle Georgia College (founded in 1884 in Cochran) and Macon State College (founded in 1968 in Macon), and serves more than 8,000 students. It is accredited by SACSCOC.
MGA offers more than 70 areas of study, from career-oriented associate degrees and certificates to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Its School of Aviation, at the Eastman campus, offers programmes in flight (airplane and helicopter), air traffic management and aviation maintenance. Other schools cover computing and information technology, business, nursing and allied health, arts and letters, and education and behavioural sciences.
International students apply online and submit a course-by-course credential evaluation and proof of English proficiency; deadlines are 1 June for fall, 1 November for spring and 1 April for summer. A limited number of International Student Scholarships waive up to half of the out-of-state tuition differential. Student housing is available on the Macon, Cochran and Eastman campuses, and full-time undergraduates with fewer than 60 credit hours must live on campus unless exempt.
