Missouri State University is a public university whose main campus is in Springfield, Missouri (United States), about 2.5 hours by car from Kansas City and three hours from St. Louis. The Springfield campus has 25,238 students; the Missouri State system also includes a two-year branch campus in West Plains and a campus in Dalian, China. The university has a public affairs mission granted by the Missouri General Assembly and is classified as a Research College and University (RCU) by the Carnegie Classification. Its teams play in Conference USA.
Programmes are housed in six academic colleges and the Graduate College: more than 95 majors with over 175 options, from accounting and nursing to wildlife conservation and cybersecurity, plus more than 70 graduate programmes including master's, specialist and doctoral degrees.
International Services handles admission for international undergraduate, graduate and exchange students. Applicants with a B1-level English score can be admitted in full with prescribed English coursework in their first semester, and international students can work on campus.

More than 95 bachelor's majors with over 175 options, plus more than 120 minors and 110 undergraduate certificates, in six academic colleges. Fields range from accountancy, agriculture and animal science to acting, applied mathematics, nursing, wildlife conservation and cybersecurity. Students can start undeclared or design an individualised degree programme.
More than 70 graduate programmes in the Graduate College, with over 65 master's programmes (85+ options) as well as specialist and doctoral programmes. Graduate assistantships are available to international students.
International first-year applicants apply online and provide:
- US$40 non-refundable application fee
- Academic transcripts in the original language and in English (unofficial copies accepted for evaluation); minimum GPA 2.5/4.0
- Proof of English proficiency
- Copy of the passport ID page
- SAT/ACT not required, but scores can help with scholarships
After admission, students complete the I-20 request and the Statement of Financial Support with proof of funding. I-20s are issued from 1 March for fall and 1 September for spring.

Low sub-scores require an English course (LCR 297 or 397) in the first semester. With a B1-level score (e.g. TOEFL 42-60, IELTS 4.0-5.0, Duolingo 60-90) applicants are admitted in full but take prescribed coursework in their first semester.
