Missouri Valley University (MVU), known until August 2026 as Missouri Valley College, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution in Marshall, Missouri (United States), on a 150-acre campus between Kansas City and Columbia. It has been educating students for more than 135 years, and the Higher Learning Commission has endorsed its new status as a nonprofit private university. The student-faculty ratio is 15:1.
MVU offers more than 30 undergraduate programmes through its schools of Arts & Humanities, Business & Technology, Education & Social Sciences, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Science & Agriculture, as well as master's programmes such as an MBA, Nursing, Community Counseling and Exercise Science.
The international community is large: according to the university, more than 350 international students from over 60 countries are enrolled. Scholarships and institutional aid are widely available, and international applicants are considered for scholarships when they apply. There are nine residential communities on campus with suites, apartments, houses and rooms. Undergraduate tuition for the 2026-27 academic year is US$23,500.

The MBA, the MA in Education Administration and the MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner are pending SEVIS review; until then international students cannot receive an I-20 for these programmes.
International applicants submit an inquiry form, then complete the full application in the student portal. The process has three stages:
- Admission: passport copy, English test score (if required), academic transcripts or an InCred evaluation
- Enrolment: sign the acceptance and scholarship letters, pay the US$200 enrollment fee and submit financial documents; the university then issues the Form I-20
- Visa: pay the SEVIS I-901 fee and apply for the F-1 visa
First-year students with a high school GPA of 2.30 or higher and in the top half of their class are admitted automatically; ACT/SAT scores are not required. Graduate programmes require an accredited bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 2.5; international transcripts must be evaluated by InCred or a NACES member. Health insurance is mandatory for international students.
Costs for the 2026-27 academic year (full-time undergraduate, face-to-face):
- Tuition: US$23,500 (12-18 credit hours per semester)
- Room: US$6,500; board: US$6,250
- Student fees: US$2,250 per year; enrollment fee: US$200
- Estimated total cost of attendance for residents, including books, transport and personal expenses: US$48,700
Graduate tuition is US$500 per credit hour for MA programmes and the MBA, and US$750 per credit hour for the MSN.
International students are not eligible for U.S. federal student aid but may receive state or college aid. According to the university, scholarships and institutional aid are widely available, with more than 15 types of institutional scholarships. The scholarship award is decided together with admission, based on the documents submitted.
MVU has nine residential communities with suites, apartments, houses and rooms for full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Each living area has a Resident Assistant and a Resident Coordinator, and rooms come with a dresser, desk, chair and bed. Dining options include the Ferguson Center Dining Hall, a bistro and grab-and-go meals. In 2026-27, room costs US$6,500 and board US$6,250 per year.
