The Escuela Internacional Waldorf Rudolf Steiner is a Waldorf school in La Nucía, in the province of Alicante. It was started by a group of families and is run by a non-profit association of families and teachers. The school follows Waldorf (Steiner) education, with attention to each stage of the child's development, teamwork among teachers and close cooperation between family and school. It is a candidate for accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

  • Infantil (early years), from age 3: free play, rhythm and a natural setting
  • Primaria (primary), ages 6 to 12: learning in main-lesson blocks (épocas), art, movement and storytelling

The programme is bilingual, and functional competence in Spanish and English is required. Admission begins with the application form, followed by a visit, interviews with teachers and, where needed, trial days; an admissions committee makes the final decision. Students may join during the year if places are available, and international students are admitted under the same criteria, with help in providing documents for the recognition of studies. The school holds open days during the year.
