The Colegio San Luis de los Franceses (Saint Louis des Français) is a private, co-educational, Catholic and trilingual school for pupils aged 1 to 18. It was founded in 1856 with French roots and as part of the French Embassy, belongs to the San Luis de los Franceses charity, and since 1964 has been under the spiritual guidance of the Notre-Dame de Vie Institute, which has a Carmelite charism. Pupils learn English, French and Spanish.
- Infantil / Maternelle (ages 2-6, from age 1 overall)
- Primaria
- ESO (secondary)
- Bachillerato, including the Bachibac (French-Spanish dual baccalaureate)
Students sit the Spanish university entrance exam (PAU) and the Bachibac, and the school is an official exam centre for Cambridge and for official French language diplomas. According to the school, its graduates go on to French, American, British or Spanish universities. A personalised induction programme from Infantil to Bachillerato is offered for children who do not speak French or Spanish. Admission involves a guided visit or open day, an interview with the school management (with the last three terms' reports from Year 1 of primary) and, depending on the previous school, language tests to plan support.
