Lexis Brisbane

Language school in Brisbane City, Australia

Lexis Brisbane is the Brisbane campus of Lexis English, a group of English language schools in Australia and Asia that has been teaching since 2004 and has six campuses in Australia. The school is at Levels 11-12, 288 Edward Street, in central Brisbane near Central Station, and is operated by Shane Global Village Brisbane Pty Ltd (CRICOS provider 02499G). The campus has about 320 students and an average class size of 12, with pathways from General English into IELTS, Cambridge, EAP, vocational study or higher education. The courses below are those listed for students over 18.

  • General English, full-time or part-time
  • IELTS preparation
  • Cambridge exam preparation: FCE, CAE and CPE
  • Private tuition
  • English and Demi-Pair (living with a local family)

Courses start every Monday. Before enrolling, students take a short online English test that sets their level and the number of weeks they need; on the first day there is a placement test on campus. Students on a student visa can study for 16 to 60 weeks, and working holiday makers for 1 to 17 weeks. After enrolment and the deposit, Lexis issues the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) needed for an Australian student visa. Two-week Barista or Bar and Cocktail courses can be added to help students find work, and Lexis arranges homestay, student residences and shared houses.
