The University of Tampa (UTampa) is a medium-sized private university on a riverfront campus in downtown Tampa, Florida. Its landmark building, Plant Hall, is a National Historic Landmark. The university has about 11,400 students from all 50 US states and most of the world's countries; about 10% of students are international. The student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1, and 90% of faculty hold a PhD or terminal degree.

UTampa offers more than 200 degree programmes at undergraduate and graduate level, in areas including:

  • Sykes College of Business
  • College of Arts and Letters
  • Natural and Health Sciences
  • College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education

Students can take part in research, internships, semester- and year-long study abroad, leadership programmes and service learning. The university competes in NCAA Division II and has won 24 national championships.

UTampa considers international any student who is not a US citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee, and reviews applications holistically. Financial aid is generally only for US citizens and permanent residents, and international students must show proof of available funds. On-campus housing is offered to new and continuing students but is not guaranteed.
