The University of Burgos is a public university, which was set up through its segregation from the University of Valladolid. The year of its foundation is 1994. Currently, the school has about 10,000 students on two campuses, while programs are offered through the following faculties and schools: the Science Faculties, the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, the Faculty of Humanities and Education, the Faculty of Law, and the Higher Polytechnic School, as well as at three associated schools, the School of Nursing, the School of Labor Relations and the School of Tourism. The institution actively participates in various exchange programs, and some of its partnerships include Millersville University, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, San Jose State University in San Jose, California, and North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. The University of Burgos also cooperates with the Erasmus project.
