The Università per Stranieri di Perugia (University for Foreigners of Perugia, UniStraPg) is an international university in Perugia, Italy, open to both Italian and foreign students. It was established in 1925. Its historic headquarters is Palazzo Gallenga Stuart in the city centre, where the language courses are held, while degree courses take place at the university campus in Piazza Giorgio Spitella. According to the university, its students come from more than a hundred nationalities.

The Italian language courses are four-week courses with 15 to 22 hours of lessons per week, depending on the level; cultural courses of three hours per week can be added. Since 1985 the university's WARRREDOC Center has worked on water resources, and in 2013 the university was awarded the UNESCO Chair in Water Resources Management and Culture. Student services include a library, scholarships, psychological support and services for students with disabilities or specific learning disorders.

Programmes

Italian language and culture courses run as four-week courses:

  • Levels A1, A2, B1 and B2: 18 hours per week
  • Level C1: 15 hours per week, or 21 hours with final exam
  • Level C2: 16 hours per week, or 22 hours with final exam
  • Cultural courses: 3 hours per week
  • A1 Bridge and A1 Related Languages courses, from January 2027

In January and December courses last three weeks, with the same total number of lesson hours.

  • PhD programmes, including Linguistic, Philological and Literary-Artistic Studies, and Frontier Sciences in Sustainability, Diplomacy and International Cooperation
  • Second-level master's in Teaching Italian as a Non-Native Language (2 November 2026 to 26 May 2027)
  • First-level master's in Contemporary Journalism (2 November 2026 to 30 June 2027)
  • Advanced training courses, such as the course for Online Tutors
