The Università degli Studi di Ferrara (Unife) is a university in Ferrara, Italy, which traces its history back to 1391. Its rector is Prof. Laura Ramaciotti. Unife is one of the nine European universities that founded the COLOURS alliance, which focuses on European mobility and an inclusive, multidisciplinary approach.

Open-access degrees have no selection test, only a compulsory check of initial preparation; degrees with a limited number of places follow the admission calls and guidelines published by the university. Enrolment for the 2026-27 academic year opened on 14 July. Student services include psychological support (Psicobonus 2026) and the AURORA anti-violence help desk.

Admission

Degree programmes at Unife are either open access or have a limited number of places:

  • Open access: no selection test; a check of initial preparation is compulsory, but students can enrol whatever the result
  • Limited places (set nationally or locally): admission follows the calls (bandi) and admission guidelines published for each programme

The university also publishes information on access requirements and on the TOLC online tests run by CISIA. Enrolment for the 2026-27 academic year opened on 14 July.
