The Università degli Studi Internazionali di Roma – UNINT is a university in Rome, Italy, specialised in languages, international relations, economics and security. Its degree programmes are taught mainly in Italian, and students can study ten languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, English, Italian Sign Language (LIS), Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and German.

It offers two bachelor's degrees and several master's degrees:

  • Bachelor's: Languages for Interpreting and Translation (L-12); Political Science, International Security and Crime (L-36)
  • Master's: Interpreting and Translation (LM-94); Investigation, Crime and International Security (LM-52); Economics and International Management (LM-77); Psychology of Learning and Inclusion Processes (LM-51); Languages for Innovative Teaching and Interculturality (LM-37); Computer Engineering for Immersive Technologies and AI (LM-32)

Three master's tracks are taught entirely in English: Luxury, Made in Italy and Sustainability; International Relations, Global Management and Economic Diplomacy; and International Security, Geopolitics and Global Affairs. UNINT also runs a foundation year, summer schools and Italian courses for foreigners at its Language Centre (CLA), and takes part in international mobility, including 194 exchange places at 20 universities in 14 non-European countries. A housing office helps international students find accommodation. Enrolment for 2026/2027 is open until 16 October 2026.

Admission

International applicants send their documents to [email protected]:

  • Bachelor's: valid ID (EU students) or passport and pre-registration on Universitaly for the visa (non-EU students), secondary school diploma and its translation, and an Italian language certificate
  • Master's: ID or passport (non-EU students also pre-register on Universitaly), diploma supplement or degree certificate with exams and its translation, and an Italian or English language certificate depending on the programme

Translations are not needed for documents issued in one of the languages taught at UNINT. Applicants without a language certificate can book an interview to check their level. Enrolment for 2026/2027 is open until 16 October 2026.

Language requirements

Bachelor's applicants need an Italian language certificate. For master's degrees, an Italian certificate is required for programmes taught in Italian (such as Interpreting and Translation, Investigation, Crime and International Security, or Psychology of Learning and Inclusion Processes), and an English certificate for the English-taught International Relations, Global Management and Economic Diplomacy track. Applicants without a certificate can have their level checked in an interview. The Language Centre (CLA) runs 36-hour Italian courses for foreigners in both semesters, at beginner and intermediate-advanced level; they are free for Erasmus students.

Fees

Annual tuition for students starting a bachelor's degree (L-12 or L-36) in the 2026/2027 academic year:

  • Standard fee: €6,900 per year
  • Reduced first-year fee according to the Italian secondary school final mark: €6,000 (70-79), €5,400 (80-89), €4,800 (90-99), €4,500 (100)

A regional right-to-study tax of €140 and €16 stamp duty are added. Fees can be paid in one instalment or in six. UNINT uses a single fee not based on income bands.

Scholarships and financial aid

UNINT awards its own scholarships for merit, talent, social and civic engagement and international talent (2026/2027 rankings published). Students can also apply to the right-to-study call of DiSCo and the Lazio Region, as at a state university, for scholarships, places in student residences, reduced-price meals and grants for study or traineeships abroad.

Housing

UNINT's housing office helps international students find accommodation ([email protected]). Places in student residences are also available through the DiSCo Lazio right-to-study call. To sign a rental agreement in Italy, students need an Italian tax code (codice fiscale), which can be requested at the Italian consulate or in Rome after arrival.
