Università Telematica eCampus

University in Novedrate, Italy

The Università Telematica eCampus is an online university whose main campus is in Novedrate, in the province of Como, in the former IBM European Training Center. It has further branches throughout Italy, including Rome, Milan, Naples and Florence. The university states that it has more than 100,000 students. Its accreditation decree from the Italian agency ANVUR is published on its website.

Lectures are followed online at any time, from a computer or the mobile app, with the support of a personal tutor; students only need to attend in person for exams and the final dissertation. All degree courses are fully online, taught in Italian and have open access. Areas include:

  • Law, legal services and political and social sciences
  • Economics and tourism
  • Engineering (civil, industrial, IT and automation)
  • Psychology, education and communication
  • Languages, literature, arts and fashion design
  • Biology, nutrition and physical activity sciences

The university also offers one-year first- and second-level master's programmes worth 60 CFU credits. It has taken part in Erasmus+ since 2018 and hosts incoming students through blended mobility. Students may stay overnight on the Novedrate campus during exams and seminars.

Law is offered as a five-year single-cycle degree.

Graduate programmes

Two-year online master's degrees, taught in Italian:

  • Italian Literature, Language and Culture; Modern Languages, Literatures and Translation
  • Economics; Education Sciences
  • Civil Engineering; Industrial Engineering; IT and Automation Engineering
  • Psychology; Human Nutrition Sciences; Science of Physical Activity

The university also runs one-year first- and second-level master's programmes (1,500 hours, 60 CFU) in fields such as economics and statistics, law, humanities and engineering, and research doctorates.

Admission

Students can enrol in person at one of the university's desks around Italy or online. Online enrolment involves registering on the eCampus portal, filling in the online application, then signing the printed matriculation application and posting it with the required supporting documents to the Novedrate office. Students transferring from another degree course cannot enrol online. The free Assistance and Orientation Service evaluates CVs for possible recognition of previous credits.

Housing

During exams, seminars and other university activities at the Novedrate campus, students may stay overnight on campus. Rooms (single to quadruple) have en-suite bathrooms and must be booked in advance by email; meals are available at the campus restaurant.
