The Università Telematica Internazionale UNINETTUNO (International Telematic University UNINETTUNO) is an online university based in Rome, on Via San Martino della Battaglia. It was established by a decree of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research of 15 April 2005 and grew out of NETTUNO (Network per l'Università Ovunque), through which students had been earning distance degrees by television and the Internet since 1992.
Courses are taught online and on television, and students can study in Italian, Arabic, English, French or Greek for a qualification recognised in Italy, in Europe and in some Mediterranean countries. Partner universities provide classrooms for face-to-face exam sessions. The educational offer includes:
- Online degrees in Economics and Law
- Online degrees in Engineering
- Online degrees in Psychology
- Online degrees in Communication Science
- Online degrees in Cultural Heritage
- First- and second-level master's programmes, PhD studies and advanced training courses
UNINETTUNO has developed agreements with universities in Mediterranean countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Tunisia and runs a University for Refugees programme. The university states that it has enrolled students from 162 countries, and it takes part in Erasmus international mobility.
