The University of Kentucky (UK) is a university in Lexington, Kentucky. According to the university, it is one of only eight institutions in the United States with liberal arts, engineering, professional, agricultural and medical colleges all on one contiguous campus. It is organised into degree-granting colleges, the Lewis Honors College and the Graduate School Its health system, UK HealthCare, performed the state's first robot-assisted kidney transplant.

UK offers more than 200 academic programmes, from bachelor's degrees to master's degrees, PhDs and undergraduate and graduate certificates, in fields such as accounting, aerospace engineering, agriculture and the health professions. The campus is being extensively renewed, with new residence halls, academic buildings, dining halls, a student centre and a $256 million multidisciplinary research building.

Admissions are open to first-year, transfer and international students, as well as non-degree and visiting students who want to take individual classes. For entry in Fall 2027, high school seniors who apply by the Early Action deadline of 1 December are considered for academic and competitive scholarships and for the Lewis Honors College. New students attend Big Blue Nation Orientation, where they receive academic advising and register for their first-semester classes. Prospective students can visit the campus or take a virtual tour.
