The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is a university in Pikeville, in the Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Founded in 1889 and committed to Christian principles, it has its campus in downtown Pikeville. More than 1,950 students attend UPIKE, which has four academic colleges and three professional schools; the undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1.
Students can choose from more than 30 majors and programmes, plus online undergraduate and graduate programmes. The professional schools are the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM), the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO) and the Tanner College of Dental Medicine, whose accreditation is pending.
International Student Services supports international students from application to arrival.
