The University of Divinity is a collegiate university that teaches and researches theology, philosophy and spirituality. It was established in 1910 as the Melbourne College of Divinity under an Act of the Parliament of Victoria, and its Office of the Vice-Chancellor is in Box Hill, Melbourne. The university is made up of twelve theological colleges across Australia and works with over thirty churches, religious orders and related organisations.
Each student studies through a home college, such as Australian Lutheran College, Catholic Theological College, Eva Burrows College (The Salvation Army), the Coptic Orthodox St Athanasius College or Trinity College Theological School (Anglican). Awards range from diplomas to doctorates, including the Diploma in Theology, the Bachelor of Theology, the Bachelor of Ministry and graduate certificates, taught in the classroom, in mixed mode or online. According to the university, students regularly rank it top in Australia for student satisfaction and learner engagement.
Overseas students pay the same tuition fees as domestic students. Applicants choose a course and a college, attend an admissions interview with a course advisor and submit the admission form for overseas coursework students.
