Wilfrid Laurier University

Wilfrid Laurier University (Laurier) is a university in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. It traces its roots to the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary, opened in Waterloo in 1911, and took its current name in 1973, having previously been Waterloo Lutheran University. Laurier has campuses in Waterloo, Brantford (opened in 1999) and Milton (first students in 2024), a Faculty of Social Work in Kitchener and a presence in Toronto; all locations are within an hour's drive of Toronto.

The university offers more than 100 degree programmes at undergraduate and graduate level, in person and online, across:

The Waterloo campus has more than 18,800 students, Brantford around 2,700, and the Kitchener social work faculty close to 300 graduate students. In Toronto, students of the MBA in sports management learn in professional sports venues. Students can add minors and specialisations, take paid co-op placements and join undergraduate research projects. Laurier has a dedicated admissions route and contact address for international students, residences on the Waterloo campus and 22 varsity sports teams.
