IES Ángel de Saavedra is a secondary school (Instituto de Educación Secundaria) in the Valdeolleros district of Córdoba, Andalusia. It opened under the name I.B. Valdeolleros and works in four buildings on a plot of about 18,000 m², with sports courts and gardens. According to the school, it has 825 students, 79 teachers and 13 administration and service staff.

The school states that it is the only institute in the province of Córdoba offering vocational training in the image and sound professional family, and the only centre in Andalusia with all of its specialities, which also attracts students from other regions. Vocational courses run in morning (08:30-15:00) and afternoon (15:00-21:15) shifts. The school is an accredited Erasmus centre and takes part in several Erasmus+ programmes for students and teachers.

Admission

Main entry routes for the vocational courses (among others listed by the school):

  • Intermediate cycle (CFGM): ESO graduate certificate or higher, a basic vocational qualification, or the CFGM entrance test (minimum age 17)
  • Higher cycle (CFGS): Bachillerato, a Técnico (intermediate vocational) qualification, a university degree, or the CFGS entrance test (minimum age 19, or 18 with a Técnico qualification)
  • Both: the university entrance exam for over-25s
