The Universidad del País Vasco is a publicly-run institution of higher education, which purpose is the promotion and execution of knowledge and research. It operates three campuses, located in the Basque Country – in Vitoria-Gasteiz (administrative capital of the autonomous community), Bilbao (the biggest city in the region) and San Sebastian. 45,000 students follow a program within the 31 faculties and schools, 35% of whom study their curriculum in Basque. Therefore, the university is a truly bilingual community, aiming to also develop tuition in English and French. The university also boasts some excellent facilities on its campuses, including medical facilities, sport events opportunities and discounts, unlimited use of million-volume libraries, as well as facilities for students with disabilities.
