The College for International Studies is based in Madrid, Spain, and was opened in 1981 with the purpose to serve as a meeting point for Spanish students and students, who come from around the globe. The school is specializing in the first two years of a university program, following the American curriculum. This means that students can go there for their freshman and sophomore year, before transferring to an American university. They are able to begin studying almost any degree with the exception of medicine, nursing, physical therapy and law (Spanish or European law require official certification from the relevant professional associations). The average class size is 20 students, and most classes are taught in English.
