National University of Medical Sciences

National University of Medical Sciences (NUMSS) describes itself as a privately owned online university that teaches in English and is based in Seville. It was founded in 2012 by the Canadian osteopath and naprapath Dr Shawn Pourgol, and according to the school it is part of a group of three institutions registered separately in Spain, the United States and Panama.

NUMSS offers health-related degree programmes taught online through pre-recorded video lectures. Its catalogue includes:

• Bachelor of Science programmes in osteopathy and massage therapy
• Master's programmes such as an MBA, athletic therapy and sports medicine
• Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Doctor of Naprapathy (DN)
• PhD programmes, including physical medicine and rehabilitation

Programmes start twice a year, in the first week of September and February, and admission is on a rolling basis; applications must include a non-refundable processing fee. For most programmes there is an optional one-week practical class each semester in Seville, which is not required to graduate.
