The Politecnico di Bari (Poliba) is a scientific and technological university in Bari, in the Apulia region of southern Italy, with further degree programmes in Foggia and Taranto. It was founded in 1990; its engineering courses date back to 1944, when they were started by the Università di Bari "Aldo Moro". It has about 11,000 students and five departments, and teaches engineering, architecture, design and territorial planning.

The offer includes 15 three-year bachelor's degrees, 18 master's degrees, a single-cycle degree, university master's programmes and 10 PhD programmes. According to the university, 8 programmes are taught in English and 14 have double-degree agreements with foreign universities.

The international relations office supports Erasmus and other exchange students (about 160 incoming students), as well as degree-seeking and PhD students from abroad. For 2026/2027, applications to two-year master's degrees open in monthly windows, the first closing on 15 September 2026.

Poliba offers 15 three-year bachelor's degrees (laurea), one professional bachelor's degree and a single-cycle degree in Architecture across five departments:

Poliba has 18 two-year master's degrees (laurea magistrale), with limited places. Programmes taught in English include:

  • Automation and Robotics Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Computer Engineering (Ingegneria Informatica)
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Telecommunications and Internet Technologies Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering (joint programme, Bari and Lecce)

Others are taught in Italian or in Italian and English, such as civil, management, energy and digital transformation engineering and Design for Cultural and Productive Context. There are also 10 PhD programmes and university master's such as Off-Shore Energy Transition, Economia Circolare and Sustainable Water and Land Management in Agricultural Systems.

Admission Requirements

Admission to two-year master's degrees for 2026/2027 is by online application on the Esse3 portal, before enrolment. The first application window closed on 15 September 2026; further windows open monthly until May 2027. Only applicants admitted after the check of entry requirements can enrol.
