The Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna (University of Bologna, Unibo) is a university in Bologna, Italy. It was founded in 1088 and describes itself as the oldest university in the Western world. It has five campuses, in Bologna, Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna and Rimini, and 55 departments and research and training centres. According to the university, it has 97,235 students, 11,302 of them international, and 3,423 teaching staff and researchers.
Its catalogue of 462 programmes includes:

Graduate programmes
Second-cycle degree programmes (master's level) are open to holders of a first-cycle degree or an equivalent foreign qualification. For the 2026-27 academic year there are 143 programmes, for example:

After a degree, students can also take a PhD (dottorato di ricerca), a specialisation school or a university master's programme (master universitario).
Admission
Admission procedures differ for EU (or equivalent) citizens and for non-EU citizens living abroad. International applicants pre-enrol on the Universitaly portal; to have the pre-enrolment validated and complete matriculation, they submit their original documents to the International Student Administration office of their campus. Second-cycle programmes require a first-cycle degree or an equivalent foreign qualification.

Housing
