Two-year master's degrees (laurea magistrale), some of them taught entirely in English, plus double and joint degrees. A new master's degree in digital archives (Archivi digitali) opens in 2026-27. The Doctoral School runs PhD programmes, including international and English-taught ones. Admission

Applicants with a foreign qualification follow three steps:

  • Pre-admission: an online preliminary evaluation of qualifications on apply.unimc.it. Applications for 2026-27 closed in April 2026; those for 2027-28 open in November 2026, with a €20 application fee from 2027-28
  • Pre-enrolment on the Universitaly portal, needed by non-EU students to apply for a study visa
  • Enrolment at UniMC after arrival in Italy

Bachelor's applicants need a secondary-school qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, a Declaration of Value or a CIMEA statement and a TOLC test result. Master's applicants need a bachelor's diploma and a transcript of records (or a Diploma Supplement). Documents need an official Italian translation, except English certificates for English-taught programmes.

Language requirements

Applicants to bachelor's or master's degrees taught in Italian take an online Italian proficiency test organised by the University of Macerata, unless they meet the exemption conditions set each year by the Italian ministry. No Italian test is needed for programmes taught entirely in English.

Scholarships and financial aid

Every year UniMC, the Italian government and private institutions offer scholarships to international students based on financial need, academic merit or both. The university also has fee reductions for foreign students living abroad, and awards hundreds of Erasmus and non-Erasmus grants each year for study periods in and outside Europe.
