The Università degli Studi di Sassari (UNISS) is a state university based in Sassari, Sardinia, with its main address at Piazza Università 21. Some courses are taught in Alghero and Olbia. According to the university, it ranked first among medium-sized state universities in the CENSIS 2026/27 ranking.
The university offers 43 bachelor's and single-cycle degree courses, 22 master's degree courses, doctoral programmes and other postgraduate courses. Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine use an open first semester for admission in 2026/27. Several courses have an international profile:
- Master's degrees taught in English: Biotechnology for Human and Animal Health, Wildlife Management, Conservation and Control, and Innovation Management for Sustainable Tourism
- Double degrees with universities in France, Portugal, Romania, Tunisia and Uruguay, among others
Each year a number of places are reserved for non-EU students resident abroad. Tuition contributions depend on income and merit, with exemptions and reductions for foreign students. For international students, the university has an international mobility office, Erasmus+ and the Ulisse programme for mobility outside the EU, an ESN section in Sassari and scholarships for international students.

Programmes

International option: Scienze dei servizi giuridici (L-14), with a double degree with Université Toulouse Capitole (Licence en Droit).

22 master's degree courses (laurea magistrale) and doctoral programmes. International master's options include:
- Taught in English: Biotechnology for Human and Animal Health; Wildlife Management, Conservation and Control; Innovation Management for Sustainable Tourism (double degree with Cluj-Napoca)
- Scienze delle produzioni zootecniche, double degree with Universidade de Évora
- Pianificazione e politiche per la città, l'ambiente e il paesaggio, double degree with the University of Carthage
- Scienze chimiche, double degree with Lisbon (Molecular Science and Engineering)
- Economia (LM-56), double degrees including Université de Bordeaux
