The Università della Valle d'Aosta – Université de la Vallée d'Aoste (University of Aosta Valley) is a university in Aosta, in the Alpine region of the Aosta Valley, Italy. Since the 2024/2025 academic year its courses have been taught on a new campus on Via Monte Vodice, close to the historic centre of Aosta.

It offers bachelor's degrees (lauree triennali), master's degrees (lauree magistrali), university master's programmes and minors in these areas:

  • Economics and management
  • Languages and communication for business and tourism
  • Political science and international relations
  • Psychological sciences and techniques
  • Economics and policies of land and enterprise
  • Primary teacher education

Recent additions include a first-level master's in governance and sustainability of mountain areas and a minor in Sport and Mountain Studies. The university takes part in Erasmus+ and double degree programmes: students from partner universities apply through their home institution, pay no tuition fees in Aosta (only Italian stamp duty) and can join a free 30-hour basic Italian course each semester. Double degree graduates receive a Diploma Supplement in Italian, French and English. The Mobility, Guidance and Placement Office ([email protected]) handles international students.

The degree in primary teacher education trains primary school teachers. Students can add a minor, such as Sport and Mountain Studies (two interdisciplinary tracks; applications until 20 November 2026).

Admission Requirements

Erasmus+ and double degree students: check that a bilateral agreement exists between the home university and the University of Aosta Valley. After the home university sends the nomination, the Mobility Office emails the steps to follow (registration, application and matriculation). The learning agreement should be sent by 30 June for first-semester or full-year mobility and by 30 November for second-semester mobility. Exchange and double degree students pay no tuition fees, only the €16 Italian stamp duty.

Language Requirements

Exchange students who want to improve their Italian can take a free 30-hour basic Italian course offered at the beginning of each semester (request at [email protected]). The Diploma Supplement for double degree students is issued in Italian, French and English.
