Aarhus University is Denmark's second oldest and largest university. Established in 1928, the school is situated in the city of Aarhus. It currently receives about 43,600 students. Aarhus University is currently organized into four major academic areas: Science and Technology, Arts, Business and Social Sciences, and Health. Aarhus is a very prestigious institution, having been ranked among the best universities in the world. As a final point, Aarhus University houses 15 centers of Excellence supported by the Danish National Research Foundation as well as a considerable number of major research centers. These are well-recognized for their pioneering work within basic research.
