Language Schools and Language Immersion Courses in United States
Here you can find language courses, language schools and immersion courses in United States. Study and learn new languages in United States.
The national and only officially recognized language in the United States is English, and it is spoken by an overwhelming percentage of the country’s 312 million residents—but not by everyone. There are millions of foreign residents in the U.S. that speak something other than English, which unfortunately puts them at a disadvantage both personally and economically, limiting their number of potential contacts and putting them at a disadvantage in terms of gaining employment. Children of foreign residents are perhaps hit the hardest by this, because while there are some “English as a Second Language” (ESL) programs offered in U.S. primary and secondary schools, they are very limited and significantly underfunded. This makes it exceedingly difficult for non-English speaking students to succeed in school. To combat this problem, many states in the U.S. now offer language schools and full language immersion courses. These programs are designed for students and adults alike, whether U.S. residents or those from other nations wishing to study abroad. The only requirement is a desire to learn and understand the English language. Taught by trained staff members that specialize in teaching the English language, these schools surround participants with everything English and U.S., from hot dogs to apple pie to Chevrolets. The instruction is modeled after the same type of lessons students will receive in secondary schools and universities here, and is strictly American, as is the rest of the program, which virtually force-feeds the English language and the American customs through full immersion, allowing students to learn more rapidly than they otherwise would.
Why Should I Learn English?
While learning the English language is certainly beneficial to, if not mandatory for the success of foreign residents living in the United States, it is equally critical in many other areas of the world as well—areas that may be cut off to people, at least economically if they neglect to learn the language. Over 1 billion people worldwide speak English as their first language, and an estimated 1 billion more are currently learning it. Additionally, from a technology standpoint, over 80 percent of the information stored on the world’s computers is in English and that number is growing every day.
Why Study English in the United States
The United States is a melting pot of different cultures, and the diversity of its landscapes is only eclipsed by the diversity of its people. Whether you prefer the oceans and palm trees of sunny California and Florida, the snow-topped mountains of Montana and Colorado or the desert beauty of Arizona and Nevada, the United States has everything you need to get started, and in each of these wonderful 50 states you’re sure to find a language school that can help you pursue your goal.
From the fashion and nightlife of New York to the peaceful plains of Kansas and beyond, the number of language-learning programs in the United States is so great that it would be impossible to list them all. Many of them are concentrated in states with a large immigrant population. Those of Mexican descent, for example, will find scores of language immersion courses in states such as California, Arizona and Texas—states that share a border with Mexico—while those of Cuban and Puerto Rican heritage will find a larger number of language immersion programs in Florida and New York respectively. Whether you prefer the fun and excitement of big city life or the tranquility of a quiet lakefront, you’ll find it in the United States.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the United States offers opportunity—the hallmark of this great country. Becoming fluent in English can help you gain acceptance to some of the country’s most renowned universities, to succeed in business, and will position you nicely to pursue a lucrative career in the field of your choosing.
