Cranfield University, situated in Cranfield, Bedforshire started its operations in the year 1946 as a postgraduate and research university. CU has one other campus in the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham, Oxforshire. CU has a functional airport adjacent to its campus, which is utilized for aerospace teaching and research. Cu has five academic units: School of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Management, Defense & Security and Health. CU’s student/teacher ratio hails second among universities in UK and has received Queen’s Anniversary Prize three times in 2005, 2007 & 2011. CU has its own Technology Park positioned within the proximity of the campus which incorporates firms as Nissan Technical Centre, Invar Systems, Trafficmaster PLC and an Innovation Centre.
