Universidad de Vic is a relatively young Spanish university – it was established in 1997 with the purpose to play an essential role in the European and world educational world. The institution is strongly committed to its Catalan roots, and all students who do not know the language are offered free courses throughout the duration of their studies. The school has also developed a community service program, contributing to the regional environment in which it operates. As far as the programs offered are concerned, UVic offers European Higher Education Area (EHEA) Degrees, Master's Degrees, doctoral studies and lifelong learning courses. These cover various areas of study, but mainly Social Sciences and Law, Health Sciences, Education, Arts and Humanities, Sciences, and Engineering and Architecture.
