The beautiful coastal city of Vigo, Spain is situated on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean in the northwestern part of the country.  Vigo is the most populous city in Galicia, and the 14th-largest municipality in Spain.

Vigo is located in the southwest of gorgeous Galicia, in the southern part of Vigo Bay. In the northeast, the city abuts the municipality of Redondela, in the east, the city of Mos, in the south, the cities of O Porriño and Gondomar, and the city of Nigrán in the southwest. On the other side of Vigo Bay are the municipalities of Cangas and Moaña. They are all part of the southern Galician region known as Rias Baixas.

Vigo and its metropolitan area is one of the main economic agents of the Galician region.

Islas Cies (Cíes Island)

Cies Island is one of the most important and historic tourist attractions in Vigo—an island that was said to be inhabited as early  as the Celtic Era. Because of its mild climate, it is among the nicest and most breathtaking places to visit in Vigo, and the boat trip to the island takes a mere 45 minutes.

Church of Santa Maria

The Church of Santa Maria, also known as La Colegiata, is a religious monumental building located in Vigo's Old Quarter. It was built in 1811 over the remains of a previous church, and designed by the architect Melchor de Prado y Mariño. The church houses the emblem of El Cristo de la Victoria, the most respected image in Vigo. The church is the launching point each year for Vigo’s “Great Week,” a popular 7-day traditional festival in the city.

Beach of A Punta

The Beach of A Punta, also referred to as the Beach of A Punta Timoeiro, is located in the Parish of Teis. This 127 meter-wide beach offers facilities such as a promenade, showers, drinking fountains, public telephones, small car parking and lifeguard services.

Rias Bajas (Rías Baixas)

Located in the southern part of the Galicia region of Spain, Rias Bajas is a part of Costa del Morisco, and overlooks the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Also known as Lower Rias, it is made up of the southern part of the Province of Coruña and the entire Province of Pontevedra. In the south, it's bordered by the Portuguese coast and ends at Cape Finisterre to the North.
Pazo de Castrelos

The Pazo de Castrelos has been classified as a historical-artistic monument since 1955. This 17th century building is now home to the Quiñones de León Municipal Museum, featuring a number of archaeological and artistic collections. The structure of the monument mainly consists of a rectangular bay surrounded by two towers. In the front of the building there is a large courtyard with a circular pool.
