The field of medicine which involves the study of the blood is known as hematology. The blood is made up of proteins, fluids and particles which came from the bone marrow and lymphatic organs. Hemotherapy is associated with Hematology being one of the treatments to cure blood diseases. It is delivered to the body by means of blood or other derivatives of it which is transferred through the process of transfusion. Transfusion can take place in many ways such as blood total transfusion, plasma application; blood partial transfusion and hemetia concentrate application.

The process of Hemotherapy involves the transferring of the blood products or the blood itself into the patient’s circulatory system to another patient’s circulatory system. For most situations, the process is life saving, especially in cases like blood loss or blood lost after surgery. Hemotherapy can also treat anemia, sickle cell disease or what is commonly known as hemophilia, which may call for several sessions of treatment.
