Bircham University’s Toxicology program deliberates the scientific ideologies underlying the toxic actions of many substances and introduces the various challenges of toxicology. The program presents subjects such as the chemical nature of harmful substances, their uptake and metabolism, their method of action, as well as the techniques used in safety evaluations and risk assessment. This program also combines the biogeochemical cycles of toxins and their connections with biological systems to develop the assessment of toxins' complex effect at the cellular, organismal, molecular and ecosystem levels.
