UIC Barcelona's Master's Degree in Biodigital Architecture is an original programme of UIC Barcelona School of Architecture that mixes architecture, biology and new digital trends. Since 2000, this programme has given a unique approach to architecture from a biological and digital perspective.
This Master's Degree program establishes contact points between new cybernetic-digital and ecological-environmental techniques. It integrates experimental concepts, evolutionary processes, emerging systems, algorithms, methods and systems that use genetic-driven software, parametric models and scripting. An pioneering view of architecture that draws from areas like natural versus digital, genetic versus generative and the impact of new biologies.
An unconventional architecture and design programme that incorporates the newest developments in conceptualisation and projection technology: CNC numerical control machines, Data-Driven Production, 3D printers... In a nutshell, a non-standard form of architecture that uses and promotes the genetic and digital principles of variation, mutation and hybridisation.
