Why Study in Bangladesh

Although it is considered a developing country, there are many reasons to choose Bangladesh as a destination for your study abroad adventure, beginning with its natural beauty.  Bangladesh is a stunningly gorgeous country that must be seen to fully appreciate.  As you fly over the country en route to your destination you’ll be amazed by the mosaic of green farmlands and the streaks of meandering rivers emitting a kaleidoscope of amazing colors.  The peace and harmony between man and nature is evident everywhere you look, including in the shapla (water lily) that bloom along the ripple of the serene lakes, rivers and ponds—natural wonders that dot the countryside of this one-of-a-kind paradise.

Also appealing in Bangladesh is the culture; a culture that reflects the long history of the region and encompasses elements of the old and new.  The Bengali language, a language you’ll be consistently exposed to during your study abroad experience, boasts a rich literary heritage, which Bangladesh shares with the Indian state of West Bengal.  Its musical tradition is as unique as it is pleasant—a tradition highlighted by a lyrics-based style of music called Baniprodham, with minimal instrumental accompaniment.  The cuisine, much like that of the neighboring country of India, is spicy and delicious, and its festivals, particularly the Pohela Boishakh (Bengali New Year), held in Dhaka, are both fascinating and entertaining.

Last but not least is Bangladesh’s beautiful architecture.  The country’s appealing structures range from ancient historic wonders to modern marvels, all rooted in the culture, religion and history of this proud land. The architecture, which has a remarkable impact on the lifestyle, traditions and cultural life of the Bangladeshi people, has evolved over centuries and assimilated influences from the country’s social, religious and even exotic communities.  Unlike many western nations, whose history is somewhat limited, Bangladesh features many architectural relics and monuments dating back thousands of years.
