To comprehend Society and Culture in the 21st century, it is essential to have knowledge of the following subjects and concepts: Sociology, Art History, Anthropology, Culture and Philosophy History. The overall objective of the discipline is to offer a theoretical reflection on the society in the 21st century and its cultural impact, to obtain a better understanding of some of the many relationships between culture and society and to examine the mechanisms of interaction in order to attain a better understanding of the role of cultural management. As cultural managers of the future, we are going to explore answers in Museums and Cultural Institutions of Barcelona, plus in relevant authors of the varied theoretical perspectives. This program is designed to allow cultural manager students the time to pursue concentrated personal research programs in a group environment.
