The Climate in Belarus


Characterized by cold winters and moist summers, Belarus has a typical continental, maritime climate and there is frost during 7-8 months of the year. The northeast is the coldest region. In January, average temperatures are between -4°C and -8°C (25-18°F). July is the warmest month, when temperatures rise to 19°C (66°F).

It is wettest in June and August and it snows from December to April. Average annual precipitation is on the high side and ranges from 550 to 700 millimeters.
