Interesting locations in Indonesia

Indonesia comprises of around 300 ethnic groups and it produces a cultural variety, combined by Buddhist, European and Islamic believer influences. Borobudur temple is a Buddhist shrine which is settled in Central Java. Prambanan complex is a Hindu temple established by the second Mataram Empire. Both of these are include in the UNESCO World Heritage list as of 1991.

National parks found in the country are Kerinci Seblat (the biggest national park in Sumatra and the park includes Barisan mountain range, Mount Kerinci and - Lake Gunung Tujuh); Gunung Leuser (An orangutan sanctuary of Bukit Lawang is sited inside the park); Manupeu Tanah Daru (located on the island of Sumba, it comprises of steepy slopes and various plant species including Aleurites moluccana, Sterculia foetida, Toona sureni, and Lantana camara); Way Kambas (situated in Lampung province, southern Sumatra, it features few Sumatran Tigers and provides splendid bird watching, with the rare White-winged Duck). Other national parks are Bukit Barisan Selatan and Siberut.

Some notable surfing locations in Indonesia are G-Land, Lagundri Bay, Mentawai Islands, North Pagai, and Sipura. The best time to go surfing is from May to September. Famous Beaches in Indonesia are Dreamland (settled in Bali, it offers basic accommodation and coffee bar for surfers sightseers); Jimbaran (tourist resort in Bali and widely recognized for the fresh seafood kiosks that are spread out along the beach); Kuta (situated close to Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport and recognized for its long sandy beach, restaurants and bars); and Seminyak (residential district on the west coast of Bali and has a lot of luxury spas, hotel, crafts/furniture shops, restaurants and bars).
