Getting Visas to Nigeria

The general requirements for any Nigerian visa application are the following: completed Visa Application form, Current Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Card), documents to prove financial capabilities during stay, and for sea men, copy of the important pages of their seaman’s book.

The 4 type of visas issued by the Embassy of Nigeria are the following:

  • Visitor/Tourist/Transit Visa – the requirements are valid passport, (1) colored passport photograph, recent salary pay slip, plane tickets for transit purposes, or hotel reservations for tourists. Fees include embassy (€20) and admin (€20-single, €25-multiple), and for quick processing additional €60.
  • Business/Education/Religious Visa – the required documents are valid passport, copy of round-trip ticket, letter of invitation from the company/business organization or from applicant’s organization/company, or approval from Ministry of Internal Affairs, or letter of invitation from host school or university. Fees include embassy (€20) and admin (€60-single, €70-multiple), and for quicker processing additional €70-single or €80-multiple.
  • Temporary Work Permit (TWP) – applicants must submit a valid passport, invitation letter from company or business associate certifying the purpose of the stay, approval form Nigeria for Temporary Work Permit (TWP), and/or letter of sponsorship from employer. Fees include embassy (€20) and admin (€70), and for faster processing additional of €70.
  • Subject To Regularization (STR) – documents to be submitted are (4) full-face passport photographs, (4) certified copies of expatriate quota approval from Nigeria, (4) certified and official copies of all certificates and credentials, (4) copies of letter of employment, (4) copies of letter of acceptance, and/or (4) copies of marriage certificate, and/or (4) copies of birth certificate for those with children. Fees include legalization (€600), embassy (€20) and admin (€50), and for faster processing €80.
