Spanish Studies Abroad

Spanish Studies Abroad (SSA Education Abroad, also known as The Center for Cross-Cultural Study) has organised study abroad programmes for North American university students since 1969. Its first programmes were in Seville, where its centre, the Centro Norteamericano, is at Calle Harinas 18. It has since expanded to Alicante and Barcelona in Spain, Córdoba and Buenos Aires in Argentina, San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Panama City; its US office is in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Programmes are offered in Spanish or in English, so students do not need to speak Spanish to apply to the English-taught options.

• Liberal Arts in English, in Spanish and in Advanced Spanish
• Summer and January-term programmes in Spanish, and a summer programme in English
• Quarter Program in Spanish of under 90 days, without a student visa
• Science and Technology, and International Business and Marketing, in English
• Soccer and study abroad, including summer training with Sevilla FC
• Practicum in Education, and high school and gap year programmes

Students can choose an academic year, a fall or spring semester, or short programmes of 3 to 4 weeks in January, May or summer, and earn academic credit. Affiliated universities include the Universidad de Sevilla and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. SSA is a member of The Forum on Education Abroad, NAFSA, FEDELE and APUNE. Students can live with host families chosen by SSA's housing coordinator.
