The Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) is a university in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, organised as the Red Universitaria de Jalisco, a network that brings upper-secondary and higher education to the whole state. Its history goes back to the Real Universidad de Guadalajara, inaugurated on 3 November 1792 as the second university of New Spain and modelled on the University of Salamanca. The university was re-established in 1925 after an absence of 65 years.
