Brandon University (BU) is a university in Brandon, in the Canadian province of Manitoba, with a Faculty of Health Studies that also teaches in Winnipeg. It highlights small classes, one-to-one contact with professors and research opportunities for students. English is the main language of instruction.
BU offers bachelor's degrees and other programmes in these areas:

Graduate programmes are offered in Education, Music, Psychiatric Nursing, Environmental and Life Sciences, and Rural Development. There are also certificate programmes, pre-professional programmes and joint programmes with Assiniboine College.
International students are supported by the Office of International Activities, and the university also accepts visiting and exchange students and has an alternate admission route for refugees and displaced persons. On campus there are three residence halls (Darrach Hall, Flora Cowan and McMaster Hall); places are limited and new applications currently go on a waiting list.

International high school applicants generally need:
- At least five academic subjects in the final year or senior exit exam, with an overall average of C or higher
- Or an IB Diploma with at least 24 points, or at least 2 A levels and 3 O levels with a C average
- Official transcripts sent directly by the school or examination body, with certified translations if not in English
- For students in their final year, a letter from the principal confirming graduation before the start of university
After applying, students receive an email listing the documents required for their country.
All applicants must show English proficiency. Accepted test scores (undergraduate) include:
- IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, at least 6.0 in each band
- TOEFL: 86 overall with 20 per section (tests until 20 January 2026), or 4.5 overall with 4.0 per section (tests from 21 January 2026)
- Duolingo English Test: 120 overall, at least 105 in each component
- PTE Academic: 58; CAEL: 60; Cambridge C1 Advanced: 176
Results must be no more than two years old. Proficiency can also be shown through previous study in English, among 12 accepted options. The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme is not accepting applications for Fall 2027 or Winter 2028.
BU has three residence halls on campus: Darrach Hall (men inclusive), Flora Cowan (women inclusive) and McMaster Hall (all genders), all connected to Harvest Hall and the Student Union Centre. Room and board rates and meal plans are available. Places are very limited: new applications are put on a waiting list, and students receive an email offer if a room becomes free.
