The Canadian Forces College (CFC) is a professional development college for officers of the Canadian Armed Forces, located at 215 Yonge Boulevard in Toronto, Ontario. It was created in 1943 as the Royal Canadian Air Force War Staff College and today trains senior officers of the Canadian Forces. Together with the Royal Military College of Canada and the Royal Military College Saint-Jean, it forms part of the Canadian Defence Academy.
The CFC does not offer ordinary undergraduate study. Its programmes are for selected participants:
- Joint Command and Staff Programme (JCSP), for senior officers of the Defence Team, also by distance learning
- National Security Programme (NSP), for selected military, public service, international and private-sector leaders
The residential programmes run for about ten months, for example from 18 August 2025 to 23 June 2026 for JCSP 52. Participants can also take master's degrees run jointly with the Royal Military College of Canada: JCSP members may apply for the Master of Defence Studies (MDS) and NSP members for the Master of Public Administration (MPA); a Master of Arts in War Studies is also offered. The former Canadian Security Studies Programme has moved to the Canadian Defence Academy as the National Security Studies Seminar.
