Cégep de Baie-Comeau is a college (cégep) in Baie-Comeau, Quebec (Canada). It offers 15 pre-university and technical programmes leading to the DEC (diplôme d’études collégiales), as well as continuing education with online AEC (attestation d’études collégiales) programmes. The college runs CEDFOB, a college technology transfer centre, and its sports teams play as the Trappeurs.

Programmes include:

  • Pre-university: Sciences de la nature, Sciences humaines, Arts, lettres et communication
  • Technical programmes in areas such as wildlife resources, forestry, nursing, pre-hospital emergency care, pharmacy, civil and electrical engineering technology, police techniques, education and administration
  • Tremplin DEC bridging paths, including one for First Nations students

International admissions for autumn 2027 are open until 1 February. The first step is an information request form, after which the college’s international development adviser contacts the applicant. Students from France pay the same fees as Quebec students under the France-Quebec agreement; other international students pay supplementary tuition fees set each year. The college has two furnished student residence buildings in the town centre, close to the campus.

Admission Requirements

  • International admissions for autumn 2027: deadline 1 February
  • First step: information request form; the international development adviser then contacts the applicant
  • Academic requirement: a secondary qualification from another school system equivalent to the Quebec secondary diploma, plus the prerequisites of the chosen programme
  • Applications are filed online through the Service régional d’admission au collégial de Québec (SRACQ)
  • Proof of financial resources of at least CA$29,928 (living costs plus annual tuition) for students not exempt from supplementary fees
  • Full tuition for one year plus a non-refundable CA$100 must be paid to receive the final admission letter (except citizens of EU countries with an agreement with Quebec)

Fees

Approximate supplementary tuition fees for international students per full-time session (semester), 2026-2027 academic year:

  • Pre-university, human and administrative techniques: CA$7,575
  • Physical and artistic techniques: CA$9,805
  • Biological techniques: CA$11,740

Students from France pay only the registration fees paid by Quebec students (about CA$250 or €156.86 per session) and no tuition, under the France-Quebec agreement.

Housing

The college has two student residence buildings in the town centre, close to the campus. Each has 53 rooms in 15 apartments of three or four bedrooms. Apartments are furnished and include a storage unit, wireless internet and free laundry machines.
